Large and small production lines must undergo\u00a0regular maintenance and care.<\/a>\u00a0With this small list of Technical Tips for Crimping-Processes we want to equip you with quick and easy solutions for your typical problems in crimping-processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recurring problems with Crimping are, that the crimp contact gets stuck.<\/strong> Once crimping the contact it gets stuck in the upper part of the die. There are various reasons for this problem and we present different solutions for each of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technical-Tips for Crimping-Processes, when the contact gets stuck<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Reason 1 \u2013 Crimper worn out:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Because of the already rough surface, the contact material sticks and the crimping process is disturbed. The\u00a0best approach<\/strong>\u00a0to solving this problem is to simply\u00a0change the wear part<\/strong>. Get in contact with us.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/a>Reason 2 \u2013 Sediments in the Crimping tool:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Small particles of the contact lining, e.g. with tin (Sn), gold (Au), nickel (Ni), amass during the manufacturing process and\u00a0 \u201eagglutinate\u201c the crimping area. They make this area \u201csticky\u201d. A\u00a0good way to solve this<\/strong>\u00a0is to\u00a0polish away those sediments<\/strong>\u00a0and to clean the Crimping tool. If polishing is not possible, again the change of the wear part ist the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reason 3 \u2013 Incompatibility of the used Materials:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Some contact materials such as nickel (Ni), steel, gold (Au), and others have the characteristics to stick to the surface of the Crimper in such a way, that the material sticks to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case you might consider the use of \u201econtakt oils\u201c<\/strong>. For this purpose highly volatile punching oils are used as parting agent. We recommend to strictly follow application directions and application specifications of your Crimping tool!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reason 4 \u2013 Rubber fold:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The contact and the contact material are crimped together too heavily. Best solution for this is to control the\u00a0\u00a0Crimp height according to your Crimping specifications<\/strong>\u00a0and to adjust if necessary.
