Splicing

A Splice is a solderless crimp connection of two components formed by crimping a metal clip onto the ends of the components.

What are the advantages of splicing?

Easy to use: even Splicing beginners will be able to produce 500-600 splices per hour in the first hour.

Better than soldered joints: Soldering and welding stiffens the wires. The impact of heat can damage parts – they become more brittle.

Space-Saving: Splicing allows space-saving connections – ideal for sensors, displays, heating elements.

Save and economical: the splice can be crimped also automatically.

Resistant against vibration and bending: the crimp-connection standards set by the automotive industry are easily met.

Manufacturers in the following industries routinely benefit from Splicing

Automotive industry

Household appliances

Lighting technology

Medical technology

Data processing

Domestic installation

Safe & Effective

The SM CRIMP is an ergonomic, safe and flexible machine, which provides exceptional splicing results for your business.

How exactly does splicing work?

1.First, the insulation is stripped from the ends of the wires to connect (if necessary).

2.Then the metal clip is cut from the splice band (continuous reel of metal ribbon) and formed to an open-barrel terminal (U-shaped).

3.Finally, it is compressed tightly around the bare wires. The deformation of the components and the terminal during the crimping process guarantees gastight connection.
